How We Accomplish Our Mission.
Tampa Tutors collaborates with students, parents, and teachers to build an entire team dedicated to improve students' performance. Tampa Tutors will identify the student’s learning style and prepare individualized lessons to guide them through.
We carefully match your child with the Academic Coach that fits their academic requirements and personality. Our Coaches identify a student’s learning style and prepares individualized, tailored lessons and visuals that stimulate the student’s critical thinking abilities. The skills acquired not only help students thrive at their present levels but they give them advantages that will endure even throughout their college careers. We know the many challenges that your child faces in school.
Foreign language coaches aid students in learning a foreign language from the conversational level through fluency. Our coaches prepare students to read, write and speak the language they are learning proficiently. We currently coach, but are not limited to: French, Latin, and Portuguese.
Our coaches are versed in past events of the US and around the world. We encourage students to look at multiple viewpoints, become informed citizens, and help them make valid arguments by stimulating discussion, readings, and project assistance. We currently coach but are not limited to World History, US History, and US Government.
Both Master and Academic coaches have a deep understanding of sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and literature. Assisting students’ to develop creative compositions such as prose, poetry, short stories, and narratives as well as technical writing skills. We currently coach but are not limited to Literature, Phonics, Fluency, Reading Composition, and Writing.
The Sciences play a key role in developing future leaders in science and technology by fueling the curiosity of students and encouraging further exploration into topics of interest. Our coaches begin by introducing basic science-related concepts to further instill an appreciation for how and why things work the way they do. We currently coach, but are not limited to: Biology,. Chemistry,Physical Science, and Physics.
All of our coaches are skilled in the broad field of Mathematics. Most of our coaches are former or current teachers, they keep up with changes in state guidelines and objectives for math learning to help students meet the established criteria. We value that patience and understanding are needed in order to promote students’ critical thinking skills and ability to utilize math in everyday life. We currently coach, but are not limited to: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Calculus, Geometry, Pre- Algebra, and Pre-Calculus.
Our philosophy begins with the understanding that children will care about learning when they have a team of people who believe in their abilities and are invested in their success. When a child is comfortable in their environment with their Academic Coach, they will thrive.
Meeting students one-on-one allows us to meet students on a personal level. Students work closely with their academic coach to create roadmaps to reach academic and personal goals and complete assigned tasks. We know that guidance, support and motivation increase confidence and expand a child’s expectations of themselves.
A lot of what drives us is simply patriotic. We know that our children must be prepared to compete globally. According to Business Insider, the United States ranks 25th in the world of smartest countries based on math and science. We rank behind China, South Korea, Germany, the UK and even Poland and Vietnam!
Our children can and must compete better than they currently do. If we must do it child by child, Tampa Tutors will be doing our part to manifest the true potential of the children in the Tampa Bay Area!
