Two years ago today I did my photo shoot to launch my website yourtampatutor.com . . As an entrepreneur I get caught up in the day-to-day stuff sometimes. I forget to take a bigger step back and look back to my first day. . . And honestly, THREE years ago from this picture @tampatutors wasn’t even a seed yet, much less launching or being launched. . . I say that to say this (more to me than to y’all). There is time to grow. There is time to plant. Most importantly, There is T I M E. . . Don’t get caught up in timelines of what you should’ve been doing by when and what age. Just do the thing that you want to do. Leave fear at the door, and bring faith. I would have none of this without God. Selah.✨🌱

Your Master List- is just a list of ALLLLLLLLLL the things you need to do, accompanied by the date their due. . . . The difference between “Urgent” and “Important” is simply what is due first. 5/11 vs 5/13. 5/11 would be due first. . . And your most productive hours are just when you tend to get more work done. . This is different for everybody.. for me it’s first thing in the morning 🌞 I feel like a spring chicken! And I like to knock stuff out early. . . Some tips on how your child can become more efficient by improving their planning skills include: . 1. Identifying Critical Tasks- determine the most important assignments, according to due date and amount of work so they’re done first. . 2. Arrange Task in Logical Order- Although we’d all like to get the BIG task out the way, it’s best to start with the small tasks that don’t take as much time and thennnn proceed with more difficult and time consuming ones. Jumping into the BIG TASK can lead to discouragement and being overwhelmed seeing that you still have little things to do. . . 3. Organize Personal Time for Other Responsibilities- too many times my students tell me they didn’t have enough time to sleep, or read or even make it to a teacher-help session because they’re too busy with their school assignments. If you just plan for academic assignments, they’ll be exhausted very soon and won’t be able to manage their workload. . . 4. Work Step-By-Step- having a systematic workflow will help your student be more organized. Checking your To-Do list from our organization skills will allow you to cross out the tasks you’ve already completed and the feeling of progress will motivate you to get everything else done. . . Organizational skills will help to create a system that allows parents to step away form the constant stress of monitoring upcoming, missing or completed assignments. . Ways to help your child Organize, include, but are not limited to: . 1. Creating checklists- Whether they are weekly or daily, create to-do lists for homework, tests, assignments that need to be completed. Tacking on the dates they need to be completed by. . 2. Designate a Study Space - even as adults, we are forced to buy desks for those of us WFH. Why would your child not need the same? Make sure they have a space that promotes productivity- away from noise and distractions such as TVs, Video Games, etc. . 3. Label, Separate, Identify- I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to wait while a child flipped through different notebooks to get to an assignment they were working on in class. Use different colors for each subject, and identify books and other school materials by labeling them. This will help your student keep track of their materials more easily. . . 4. Clean Out Clutter- this is self-explanatory. There’s no reason why your assignment from 3 semesters ago should be mixed in with today’s homework. Every week clear out book bags and notebooks of paper and other clutter. . . 5. Prepare for the next day- each night go over what your student will need for the next day. This will keep students from forgetting important things and will save parents a headache in the morning!

She is so tough on herself, and I believe that may be her only “flaw”. In fact, she’s so tough on herself,that she doesn’t see that an easy task has been harder by worrying about how well she’ll do or how she’s currently doing- when she’d just learned it. But I knew and I know, as I do with all my kids, that given the right #tutor, they can do anything.

Tampa Tutors was founded in 2018 after years of tutoring with Add Ease Tutoring, an established tutoring company with a stellar reputation for its work with students with learning disabilities. Today we enjoy working with students of all academic backgrounds throughout the Tampa Bay Area.

I am a USF Business College Graduate, originally born and raised in the state of New York. My specialties include tutoring students in both individual and group sessions and my primary areas of interest include: Math, Spanish, Literature, History and study skill improvement. I also have a wealth of knowledge in working with K-12 students and undergraduate students in areas including coping with learning disabilities, procrastination, and stress management.

My vision is for Tampa Tutors to always stay ahead, aware, and abreast of what is happening in the world of education; a bridge of informed communication between teachers, students, and parents. We make it our mission to connect and support our educators, far too often our teachers are underpaid, underappreciated, and underrated (if you are a current/former teacher reading this, join our team!).

Tampa Tutors was birthed by my respect and love for teachers, attempting at first to be one myself, but I could not live with not being able to help each and every single child in my classroom. The best teachers always found a way to teach us a life lesson; teaching the intanglible, compassion, empathy, and how to be a good person. Meeting students one-on-one allows us to meet students at their level, and build a bond based on trust. Our coaches become a part of their support system.

My goal is to be able to sponsor underprivileged students by providing a tutor as a support system they may not have. Eventually providing scholarships, internship opportunities, and more.
